What is the difference between Allopathic treatment and ayurvedic treatment There are many, the experts say. The theories, principles, approach to the disease, perception – in short almost all aspects of Ayurveda is totally different from that of allopathy.
While Ayurveda takes a holistic approach to the disease and takes into account the body, mind and the spirit, allopathy mainly treats the symptoms and the disease only. Ayurveda also considers each individual’s constitution different and the treatment also differs from individual to individual, where as allopathy treats everyone the same way, without classifying people according to their body type.
This method of allopathy has several drawbacks. For example, one medicine which suits one person may be allergic to another person. As allopathy provides the same medicine to all, it may lead to side effects in some people. When you consider such aspects, it is always Ayurveda which provides the safe therapies. The development of medicines for these two systems too varies greatly. Ayurveda uses medicinal herbs and prepares various decoctions, which were prescribed by Ayurveda scholars of ancient ages. This medical system had been in existence for thousands of years and it has a history of treating and curing many a disease. Thus the efficacy of herbs and medicinal decoctions are proved beyond doubt. But allopathy is of recent origin and the medicines produced through laboratory trials may sometimes turn out to be allergic to many.
